Alhough there was low turn out of eligible voters during the election, electorates conducted themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout the process.

The seat occupied by Hon. Aminu Shagali, representing the constituency on the platform of the APC was declared vacant in April after he was alleged to have absconded from activities of the Assembly for more than 365 days following his removal as Speaker.
