Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, has been berated by some concerned Nigerians and political pundits on social media after he suggested that former Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun’s crime was greater than the controversial Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.
Recall that the Presidential Spokesman, made the comment on Friday, April 23, 2021, while speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’.
The Statement attracted numerous reactions on social media as many argued there was no basis for comparison.
A tweet @realKingkuro0 mockingly said, ” certificate forgery is worse than radicalism, no wonder we are in this mess…. They choose what is good and know what is worse”.
Another user, @Arewaicon, argued that “Kemi Adeosun committed forgery and we all know the punishment of forgery in Nigerian Law. But nobody can tell you the crime Pantami committed and the punishment section in Nigeria Law. For that, their issues are incomparable”.
@drealseun09 thinks “Garba Shehu, Isa Pantami are products of bad leadership in Nigeria with APC and PDP ruling. Until we clear every current public service holder (elected or selected) out of the system, the new Nigeria we desire will never emerge”.
@Jay_1883, said, “at least he didn’t deny the crime committed by Pantami, he only indulged him….going forward crimes will be scaled in Nigeria and criminals from any region will be granted presidential pardon”.
For @browc555, “the world is watching to know how the President of Nigeria @ MBuhari will solve this Pantami problem and outright terrorism in Nigeria. Pantami should be sacked ASAP”.
