The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky. has been slammed with fresh terrorism charges by the Kaduna State government.
The state Director of Public Prosecution Mr. Dari Bayero, said that the fresh case was filed on Monday July 26, before the Federal High Court, Kaduna.
According to Bayero, the state government will also appeal the recent ruling of the Kaduna state High Court which discharged and acquitted El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat.
The new case will be prosecuted by the Federal and Kaduna state governments.
He said El-Zakzaky who was discharged and acquitted by a Kaduna state High Court on charges of culpable homicide among others is being charged under the Terrorism Act 2013.
“The federal ministry of Justice will send a team to come and prosecute with us”, Bayero said.
