IPOB: Gov Ikpeazu Fears

By Odira Nwachukwu

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State got more than he bargained for after he erroneously thought that making a public outcry over threats posed to governors in the Southeast region by the Indigenous People of Biafra, POB, would attract some level of sympathy.

Ikpeazu had stated during a visit to the Osasu Igbinedion pan-African television studio in Abuja at weekend that IPOB had placed all the governors of the South-East under fatwa (death sentence).

But instead of getting the desired reactions, many Nigerians took to social media to blast the governors over the bad governance in the region, affirming that they deserved the death sentence.

Referring to Ikpeazu, a twitterian, @Amara, said “You spend eight years as a governor yet nothing to boast about not a single solid road, not industries, not good educational environment, not payment of salaries… absolutely nothing.
Then after being the governor, you go over to the senate and continue the rubbish.”

@MrP7529 tweeted: “Governor Ikpeazu you had the opportunity to advise Mazi Nnamdi Kanu when he honoured your Southeast governors meeting, but what did you do? Why didn’t you advise him at the time? Instead, you all ganged up and invited the military to try and assassinate him.”

@erondu_reuben: “You lots are “dead” already, no need of killing you again! You can’t be living while smelling like corpses!”

@93_chuks: “All the Eastern governors gave rise to what is on ground in the East. Because of this, they have lost the trust of the masses and follow the only voice that speaks the truth and wants freedom of his people.”

@xtobaba9: “You guys were watching your youths being arrested, killed, and molested anyhow. But they are protecting their bandits and terrorist brothers in the North.”

@kpuraAraba: “The important thing is that their senses are being restored. Their foolish ways can be forgiven if they show more commitment to serving the people.”

@ElephantofA: “This tells you it is no longer business as usual o. I will advise you governors to sit up and take the lives of your people seriously. Easterners are now on full battery charge. That is all I see from my end.”
