Gov. Uzodimma threatens to dethrone Traditional Rulers

Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, has threatened to dethrone traditional rulers who remain docile while crimes increase in their domain.

Governor Uzodimma made the threat on Friday, April 23, 2021, during a security stakeholders meeting in Owerri, the Imo State capital, with the new Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ene Okon, in charge of zone 9.

Uzodimma said that monarchs must begin to take responsibilities for the things that happen in their communities.

He noted that all hands must be on deck if the war against crime and violence will be checked in the state in particular, the South East and Nigeria in general.
