APC Lives on False Hope

By Ola Fabiyi

A Deputy Director in the Atiku 2019 Presidential Campaign Organisation , Oladimeji Fabiyi has said the recent defection of the Governor of Cross Rivers State, Senator Ben Ayade to the APC was not surprising in anyway.

According to him, it only confirmed the continued shadow chasing of the APC and unrealistic nature of the defected Governor.

Fabiyi maintained that Ben Ayade had long left the PDP going by the antecedents and some of the funny character the Governor had exhibited shortly after he won the 2015 Governorship elections.

Apart from the fact that Gov. Ayade was never a core party man who believes in the supremacy of the party, coupled with his lack of understanding that politics is about stakeholding, team work and accommodating other people’s views more so when one is a leader.

As a PDP member and stakeholder, I have never seen any commitment to the party showed by the decamped Governor.

It is only a politically naive and intelligently deficient politician that will jump into the APC for whatever reason in this time and season.

I listened to the reasons given by Ayade and I was dazed hearing him shower accolades of quality leadership and performance on the failed and absentee President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ayade to some of us left because he never had any commitment to the party that brought him to political limelight and reckoning.

His failure to take charge as the leader of the party in the state, his inability to work with others and ensuring that every critical stakeholders in the state is carried along, was responsible for his abysmal political leadership failure that brought up question about his leadership capacity.

It goes beyond blowing grammar that sometimes has no clear meaning but more of razzmatazz and gangsterism, Fabiyi expressed.

I challenge the Governor to publish his support financially or otherwise to the party at both the National and State levels.

I must say that the APC has again missed it this time as always by fetching individuals with no political value into their fold. Governor Ben Ayade is no doubt in another voyage of meaningless discoveries in the APC.

I wholeheartedly join our great party in wishing Ayade safe journey, I wish to remind the APC that their continued forlorn hope will soon varnish without a trace.

I wish to commend the decisions of our legislators and other stakeholders in the state who are standing with our party, the PDP in this trying times.

Cross River is PDP, PDP is Cross River.
