Angry mob on Thursday, May 27, 2021, smoked out and burnt two suspected ritualists along Oshodi/Apapa expressway.

The two suspected ritualists were said to be part of a syndicate kidnapping and killing unsuspecting Nigerians who ply the Apapa/Oshodi expressway in Lagos.

Worried by the incessant tales of mysterious disappearances of innocent victims along the well travelled route, residents spurned a dragnet that led to the discovery of the suspects who have converted the storm drainage manholes on the road to the den of their nefarious activities. learnt on Thursday that apart from laying siege to rob unsuspecting victims of valuables, they have been responsible for the disappearances and deaths of many.

Particularly between Ilasa and Charity Bus Stops, there has been claims of continuous, unabating stench of rotting flesh which has further fuelled speculations of a human slaughter facility in the vicinity.

According to some residents who spoke on condition of anonymity, the criminals hide in the designated storm drainages along the route as they lurk to pounce on unfortunate passers-by either in the very early hours of the morning or late in the night.

They then rob them, kill them and dump their bodies after extracting the vital organs they need for their money-making rituals
Their ability to make quick getaways had also been facilitated by exits carved out from both ends of the road.

But angry residents in the area — before the Iyana-Isolo Bridge from Ilasa — devised a method of beating the criminals in their game after deciding to close all exits while igniting bonfires on Thursday.

It worked as two men, trapped within the enclave could no longer stand the fire and sought a way of escape.
It was a spectacle as the fleeing criminals who burst out of the oven-hot tunnels like squirrels were promptly apprehended by the vigilant mob who proceeded to roast them in broad daylight.

It will be recalled that a major pandemonium broke out in Lagos more than twenty years ago when a certain Clifford Orji who hid under insanity was caught with human parts along the same route following a tip off to the police.

He had later been found to be sane and of sound mind.
The Lagos State Police Command was yet to react to the incident as at the time of filing this report.
