Anambra elections: Chris Azubogu kicks off delegates tour

Engr. Chris Azubogu, a frontline Anambra State governorship aspirant and a serving member of the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, kicked off his enlightenment campaign and delegates’ tour across the local government areas of Anambra State ahead of the party’s primaries.

Recall that Anambra State PDP primaries is scheduled for June 26, while the general elections is slated for November 21, 2021 when the good people of the state will cast their ballot for a successor of the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

On Tuesday, Chris Azubogu met with the PDP delegates at Igbariam in Anambra east local goverment area and promised to be a governor that will unlock economic potentials of Omambala area of the state in order to grow the state economy.

“This election to me is about building human and physical infrastructures that will drive the state growth”, he stated.

Simultaneously, he traveled and met with the PDP delegates at Umueze Anam in Anambra West local government area of the state and promised to unlock Anambra West LGA economic potentials to fuel growth of the state with a promise to turn waterways of Anambra West LGA to a viable economic corridor through a developed maritime sector.

“We will develop sand beach along this Omambala river and turn it a tourist destination for the state.

Anambra state under my watch will develop Agro Industrial park with commodity exchange window within Omambala area.

“We will partner with our neighbouring state of Kogi and federal government to build Itobe -Umuezer (Kogi/Anambra) road.


“We will end the inter communal crisis within the Omambala areas of the state.

“We will create string economic activities that will keep our people busy and out of crime”, he said.

Finally, he went to Ifitedunu and intelligently engaged the PDP delegates in Dunukofia LGA by embracing them to be part of the move to develop Anambra State.

In his words, Chris Azubogu, said, “my aspiration is to lead Anambra State that will build infrastructure that will anchor our economic growth and development”.

While in Nteje, the headquarters of Oyi LGA, Chris Azubogu while addressing the delegates, said,

”Oyi is very critical to our development projection as is already accommodating Onitsha urban spillover of huge commercial, industrial and residential activities. Oyi LGA also shares part of the erosion challenges in our State. The good news is that we can solve our problems when mobilized to do so.

”No other time is better for Ndi Anambra to mobilize themselves to lead new development engagement than now. I am running for the Governorship of Anambra State for us as a people to lead the quest to fix the State challenges from the front.”
