Twelve aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have declared their full interest to fight for the party’s candidacy for the upcoming November 6, 2021, Anambra State governorship election.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Okelo Madukaife.
Mr. Madukaife made the disclosure following what he termed “inconsistent lists being bandied in more fora than one”.
For the avoidance of doubt, he said, 12 aspirants have by virtue of preliminary declaration to the State Officers indicated their intention to seek nomination.
The aspirants are:
1. Dr. Amobi Nwokafor, Agbako Agbako Oka
2. Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo Akaekpuchionwa
3. Sen. Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba, Igwebike
4. Paul Orajiaka, Kpakpando
5. Chief. Maxwell Okoye, Ife Nise
6. Chief. Ben Etiaba (Ifenna Nnewi)
7. Chief. Azuka Okwuosa , Chinyelugo
8. Chief. George Moghalu , Ohamadike
9. Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo, (Ebube Chukwu Uzo Oko)
10. Rtd. Col. Geoff Onyejekwe (Ide Anaedo )
11. Chief Edozie Madu, Ugwumba Owere Ezukala
12. Rev. Godwin Chukwuma Okonkwo
Madukaife disclaimed anyone outside these 12 potential governors of Anambra State or as may be contained in future updates by this office to accommodate new entrants.
“Any list anywhere which contains less that these twelve is unauthorized.
“Any list which adds any name to this 12 stated here is equally fake,” he declared.
On the chances of any aspirant emerging as candidate, he said:
“Our great party has not embarked on any process of eliminating any aspirant.
“All aspirants have equal chances of clinching the ticket and are protected by our determination to create a level.
“Playing field in a choice to be made by Anambra APC members on Anambra State soil.
The Anambra APC Publicity Secretary invited party members and the general public to make clarifications where necessary to avoid any mix-up, warning:
“Anyone impersonating our party by claiming to be an aspirant outside the names here should be disregarded as the name of our great party will not be dropped in circumstances adorning the garb of fraud.”
He implored other political parties to be proud of their respective platforms, rather than allow their members claim to be APC aspirants, confusing the polity.
